RUBBER COVERING

At Jet Rollers Ltd we offer a variety of rubber compounds which can be used for roller recovering including: silicone, hypalon, nitrile, E.P.D.M., and polyurethane.  Our compounds vary in hardness from 20 - 99 shore A. For application onto paper machine rolls, steel, alloy, fibre, glass and carbon fibre, our hardness ranges from 0/1 P&J to 300 P&J.

Compounds Include:

  - Silicone:

An extremely benefitial rubber compound as it is suitable for a wide range of electrical applications due to the fact it can be formulated to be electrically insulative or conductive. Silicone is also resistant to both very high and very low temperatures and will retain its properties regardless of the whether it's exposed to wet, dry, cold, hot, or humid.

 - Nitrile:

A synthetic polymer that exhibits rubber like characteristics when vulcanized. It can dispel electrostatic charge much better than natural rubber and this can often be a valuable feature for rubber rollers. Nitrile has also demonstrated a good abrasion resistance; also generating significantly less particulate matter that can potentially act as contaminants during manufacturing.

- Polyurethane:

These are one of the most versatile materials. Their many uses range from flexible foam in upholstered furniture to rigid foam as insulation in walls and roofs to thermoplastic polyurethane used in medical devices and footwear to coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers used on floors and automotive interiors. Polyurethane roll covers can improve the lifespan of rollers. These coatings give rubber rollers a high gloss, while offering improved scratch and corrosion resistance; making them more durable and less expensive to maintain.

- E.P.D.M:

EPDM's biggest strength is its substantial ozone resistance. Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer produces a material which measures well in the areas of elongation and strength, heat aging, low temperature-brittleness, water vapour permeability and water absorption.

- Hypalon:

Hypalon is a good material to use for rubber rollers in many instances;as well as having an exceptional resistance to most chemicals it is also flame resistant. It also offers excellent abrasion resistance and low moisture absorption and Hypalon chlorosulfonated polyethylene has demonstrated long life in harsh environments. This type of Hypalon is used in a wide range of industries that require high performance.
